The DLD order on temporary suspension of importation of live domestic pigs and wild pigs and their carcasses from India to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 9 February 2022, the suspension for the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from India since 11 February 2022,has expired on 11 May 2022. However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in areas of India. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from India has been temporarily suspended for 90 days from 12 May 2022 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.
