The Declaration of special measures for the commercial import of certain animals from Belarus, Poland, Romania and Ukraine introduces restrictionson the commercial import of dogs, cats and ferrets originating from or dispatched from Belarus, Poland, Romania and Ukraine. This addendum introduces these measures from 29 October. This Declaration does not apply in relation to the non-commercial movement of pet animals.The measure has been introduced to allow certain movements to resume, subject to restrictions and revokes the previous declaration dated 2 September 2022 (see G/SPS/N/GBR/15/Add.2). Commercial imports of pets from Belarus, Poland, Romania and Ukraine will be restricted to organisations that have been approved by the competent authority (the Animal and Plant Health Agency) for England, Scotland and Wales. Approved organizations must have submitted certain information seven working days before the expected date of arrival; and are restricted to specific arrival times (and where applicable points of entry) to ensure the movements do not present a risk to the United Kingdom’s biosecurity.
