RESOLUCIÓN No. 00022991 (11 de noviembre de 2022) "Por la cual se establece el procedimiento para el trámite ante el ICA de las solicitudes de nuevos productos obtenidos por Innovación en Mejoramiento Genético, con el fin de determinar si corresponden a Organismos Vivos Modificados (OVM) o a Organismos Convencionales" (Resolution No. 00022991 (11 November 2022) establishing the ICA application process for new products obtained through innovative genetic improvement, where the aim of this process is to determine whether such products are living modified organisms (LMOs) or conventional organisms) The provisions established in the notified Resolution will apply to all natural or legal persons conducting research into genetic improvement and evaluating, producing, importing and/or exporting products that have been obtained through the use of innovative genetic improvement techniques deriving from modern biotechnology, where the end product does not contain foreign genetic material. The procedure laid down in Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) Resolution No. 29299 of 2018 for cultivars must also be established for animals of zootechnical interest improved through innovative improvement techniques deriving from modern biotechnology, with the aim of determining whether they are LMOs or conventional organisms.
