The draft Law "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving State Regulation in the Sphere of Pesticides and Agrochemicals"

Ukraine notifies the adoption of the Law of Ukraine No. 2775-IX "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving State Regulation in the Sphere of Pesticides and Agrochemicals" of 16 November 2022.The Law was published on 28 December 2022 and will enter into force in six months from the date of its publication, namely on 28 June 2023, except:Subparagraph 8 of paragraph 1 of Section I of this Law (refers to requirements on packaging and labelling), that shall enter into force on 1 January 2024; andParagraph 3 of Section I and paragraphs 2 and 3 of section "Final and Transitional Provisions", that shall enter into force on the day following the day of publication of this Law, namely on 29 December 2022.It is also established that:Pesticides and agrochemicals placed on the market prior to the entry into force of subparagraph 8 of paragraph 1 of Section I of this Law may be placed on the market until their expiration date, provided that their packaging and labeling comply with the requirements of the legislation of Ukraine in force for the time of placing such pesticides and agrochemicals on the market;Temporarily, until the date of entry into force of this Law, the provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On Plant Quarantine" in terms of authorization of laboratories to conduct inspection, sampling and phytosanitary examination (analysis) shall be suspended.
