The DLD order on temporary suspension of importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from the United Kingdom to prevent the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 20 December 2022, the suspension for importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from the United Kingdom since 21 December 2022 and 10 January 2023 has expired on 20 March 2023. However, the WOAH has reported continued an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in many the area of United Kingdom. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Essex, Norflox, Lancashire,  Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Sussex, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, West midlands, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Cumbria, Aberdeenshire, Dumfries and Galloway, and Fife of United Kingdom is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after the date of publication in the Thai Royal Gazette (5 April 2023).
