Resolución Ejecutiva No 044-2022 Control de límites máximos de residuos en productos de origen agropecuario de importación, exportación y consumo nacional (Executive Resolution No. 044-2022: Control of maximum residue limits in products of agricultural origin for import, export and domestic consumption)

The purpose of the notified Resolution is to: ▪ Establish the control of pesticide residues at different stages: primary production, processing, local consumption, export and import of agricultural products through sampling and verification of maximum residue limits (MRLs); ▪ Adopt MRLs for pesticides in accordance with the Codex Alimentarius. In the absence of MRLs established by the Codex Alimentarius, the MRLs established by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the European Union shall apply. When the MRLs established by the EPA and the European Union are different, the MRLs with the highest nominal value will be adopted or will follow the regulations of the country of destination of the agricultural product; ▪ Monitor and analyze pesticide residues in agricultural products destined for national consumption, export and import.
