The DLD order on temporary suspension of the importation or transit of live domestic pigs and wild pigs and their carcasses from Indonesia to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 2 June 2023, the suspension for the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Indonesia, since 6 June 2023 has expired on 4 September 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued an outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live domestic pig and wild pigs and their carcasses from Indonesia is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after the date of publication in the Thai Royal Gazette (2 October 2023).
