The DLD order on temporary suspension of the importation or transit of live domestic pigs and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 2 June 2023, the suspension for the importation or transit of live domestic pig and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar, since 6 June 2023 has expired on 4 September 2023. However, Myanmar have no self-declaration for the recovery of country freedom from African swine fever from WOAH. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live domestic pig and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after the date of publication in the Thai Royal Gazette (2 October 2023).
