The DLD order on temporary suspension of the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Germany to prevent the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1)

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 2 June 2023, the suspension for the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Germany since 6 June 2023 has expired on 4 September 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the area of Germany. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Germany is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after the date of publication in the Thai Royal Gazette (2 October 2023).
