The DLD order on temporary suspension of the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from the Philippines to prevent the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1)

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 19 June 2023, the suspension for importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from the Philippines since 25 June 2023 has expired on 23 September 2023. However, the WOAH has reported a continued an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the area of Philippines. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from the Philippines is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after the date of publication in the Thai Royal Gazette (11 October 2023).
