The DLD order on temporary suspension of the importation or transit of live domestic pigs and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar to prevent  the spread of African Swine Fever

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 2 October 2023, the suspension for the importation or transit of live domestic pig and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar, has expired on 1 January 2024. However, Myanmar has no self-declaration for the recovery of country freedom from African swine fever from WOAH. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live domestic pig and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after date of publication in the Thai Royal Gazette.
