The DLD order on temporary suspension of the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Indonesia to prevent the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1)

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 20 November 2023, the suspension for the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Indonesia has expired on 19 February 2024. However, the WOAH has reported an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), which is an endemic disease in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Indonesia is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 19 February 2024 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette.
