Fresh chillies for human consumption from Fiji

Australia has published import conditions for the import of fresh chilli fruit from Fiji (except the Island of Rotuma). Three varieties of fresh chillies are permitted to be imported into Australia – ‘bird’s eye’, ‘hot rod’ and ‘red fire’. Australia and Fiji have agreed to the phytosanitary measure, conditional non-host, to manage the quarantine fruit flies, Bactrocera passiflorae and Bactrocera xanthodes, to achieve the appropriate level of protection for Australia.
