Draft Ministry of Public Health Notification (MOPH), No. ... B.E. ..., entitled "Food Containing Pesticide Residues (Pesticide Residues in Food) (No. 5)"

For consumer protection, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) is proposing to revise the MOPH notification concerning the maximum residue level of pesticides in food through a risk-based framework focused on either short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic) exposures using Thai food consumption data and field trial data.The main elements of the draft MOPH notification are as follows:Revision of the MRLs/EMRLs set forth in Annexes 2 and 4 of the MOPH notification;Revision of the Default limit set forth in Annex 3 of the MOPH notification;Addition of the provision "In cases other than those specified in Annexes 2 and 4 and Codex, the pesticide residues in food shall not exceed the ASEAN MRLs".This MOPH Notification shall come into force after the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
