Resolución 001-2025 ARP-IPSA, Establecimiento de Requisitos Fitosanitarios para la Importación de Semilla lechuga (Lactuca sativa L.) procedentes de Francia (Resolution No. 001-2025 ARP-IPSA establishing phytosanitary requirements for the importation of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) seeds from France)

The notified Resolution establishes the phytosanitary requirements governing the importation of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) originating in and coming from France.1. Lettuce seeds originating in France for export to Nicaragua must come from areas free from the following pests: Lettuce mosaic virus, Tomato black ring virus, Tobacco streak virus, Alfalfa mosaic virus.2. The phytosanitary certificate must include the following additional declaration: the seeds come from a place of production officially inspected by the national plant protection organization (NPPO) of the country of origin during the active growth period of the crop, and are free from Lettuce mosaic virus, Tomato black ring virus, Tobacco streak virus and Alfalfa mosaic virus.3. Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) seeds originating in France must comply with the following:3.1. Containers must be new and duly labelled or tagged, indicating the species, variety and country of origin.3.2. The seeds will be subject to phytosanitary inspection at the point of entry into the country.4. The IPSA inspector will take a sample to send to the Phytosanitary Diagnostic and Seed Quality Laboratory, with the consignment being detained until the results of the analysis are obtained.Shipments will be subject to phytosanitary control by plant quarantine inspectors from the Institute for Agricultural and Livestock Protection and Health, who will verify compliance with the phytosanitary requirements and decide whether or not to authorize importation, on the basis of the accompanying documents.G/SPS/N/NIC/130- 2 -
