SENASA-DCA-R0001-2025 - Orders the temporary suspension of imports of those goods specified in Chapter 8.8 "Infection with foot and mouth disease virus" of the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, which are traded openly, originating in the Federal Republic of GermanyCosta Rica hereby advises that Resolution No. SENASA-DCA-R0001-2025, notified in document G/SPS/N/CRI/313 of 14 March 2025, ceased to have effect on 2 June 2025. Through this Resolution, the National Animal Health Service (SENASA) had ordered the temporary suspension of imports into Costa Rica of the goods specified in Chapter 8.8 "Infection with foot and mouth disease virus" of the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, which were traded openly and originated in Germany, which had been produced or obtained 28 calendar days prior to the beginning of the notified event and which came from establishments that had received products from the state affected by the foot and mouth disease (FMD) virus.The suspension has been lifted following the reinstatement by WOAH of Germany's status as "country free of foot and mouth disease without vaccination" on 14 April 2025, meaning that the country can now certify, without restrictions and in accordance with WOAH, the absence of foot and mouth disease for animals and products of animal origin.With the country having regained the status of country free of foot and mouth disease without vaccination, according to WOAH, exports to Costa Rica of the goods specified in Chapter 8.8 of the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, which are traded openly, which have been produced as of 14 April 2025 and which come from establishments authorized by SENASA, are once again permitted.https://members.wto.org/crnattachments/2025/SPS/CRI/25_04107_00_s.pdf
