The notified document establishes the phytosanitary requirements governing the importation of beetroot (Beta vulgaris) seeds originating in and coming from Brazil.1. The phytosanitary certificate must include the following additional declaration: Beetroot seeds officially inspected by the national plant protection organization (NPPO) of the country of origin and found to be free from: Peronospora farinosa f.sp. betae, Cercospora beticola, Persicaria maculosa, Lolium multiflorum, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Artemisia biennis, Xanthium spinosum.2. The shipment is free of soil and any foreign material.3. The contents shall be contained in new, unused packaging and must be free of any foreign material.4. The IPSA inspector will take a sample to send to the Phytosanitary Diagnostic and Seed Quality Laboratory, with the consignment being detained until the results of the analysis are received.Shipments will be subject to phytosanitary checks by plant quarantine inspectors from the Institute for Agricultural and Livestock Protection and Health, who will verify compliance with the phytosanitary requirements and decide whether or not to authorize importation, on the basis of the accompanying documents.
