Addition of prohibited areas and prohibited host of Xylella fastidiosa

The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (QIA) has added the prohibited areas and prohibited host of Xylella fastidiosa listed in the annex 1, based on the results of Pest Risk Analysis (PRA).

Products covered:
Plants for planting (excluding seeds) of the host of Xylella fastidiosa.

The prohibited areas has been added as below (the underlined countries are new additions):
America: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, United States of America, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela;
Asia: India, Iran, Chinese Taipei, Turkey;
Europe: France, Italy.

In the event that vectors of X. fastidiosa (listed in the annex 2) are detected in hosts (excluding plants for planting) of X. fastidiosa, produced in import prohibited areas, they will be treated as regulated pests.
