Proposed amendments to the Standards and Specifications for Food Additives - Advance Notice No. 2025-316, 22 July 2025

The Republic of Korea is proposing to amend the "Standards and Specifications for Food Additives". The main points of the amendments are as follows:1) The composition system of the “Standards and Specifications for Food Additives” will be reorganized. Especially, nutrient fortifiers and processing aids will be listed separately from general food additives;2) Specifications for enzymes (39 items) will be revised;3) Conditions of use for modified hop extract and vitamin K1 will be revised;4) General test methods for food additives will be revised.
