The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Kuwait.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, water and agriculture issued the Decision No. 1438/1074/111 dated 24 May 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Kuwait. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Decision No. 154132 dated 13 February 2017 (16/05/1438H) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Kuwait, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Kuwait.Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAIhas not been registered in Kuwait. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Kuwait is negligible.
