The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Ukraine.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 1438/1074/111 dated 24 May 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Ukraine. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Decision No. 97903 dated 12 December 2016 (13/03/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Ukraine, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Ukraine.
Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in Ukraine. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10. 4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Ukraine is negligible.
