The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) lifts the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Kuwait

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Decision No. 30665 dated 28 May 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Kuwait. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Decision No. 22387 dated 26 February 2017 (29/05/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Kuwait, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Kuwait.
Based on OIE reports No. 23585 dated 19 April 2017, Kuwait is free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Kuwait is negligible.
