The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) lifts the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Odessa and Chernovtsy in Ukraine

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Decision No. 32256 dated 11 June 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Odessa and Chernovtsy in Ukraine. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in the Decision No. 17056 dated 22 January 2016 (24/04/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Odessa and Chernovtsy in Ukraine, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Odessa and Chernovtsy in Ukraine.
Based on OIE reports No. 23789 dated 14 May 2017, Odessa and Chernovtsy in Ukraine are free from HPAI. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Odessa and Chernovtsy in Ukraine is negligible.
