Notice of Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Decision No. 356/1291/1438 dated 16 August 2017 (24/11/1438 AH) entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks" originating from the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Philippines

Following the OIE reports, Ref. No. 24544 dated 11 August 2017, and No. 24527 dated 10 August 2017, which indicate that Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Philippines, and in compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Philippines to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.
