The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Malaysia

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 1438/1291/377 dated 21 August 2017, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Malaysia. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Decision No. 192942 dated 21 March 2017 (22/06/1438 AH) imposed a temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Malaysia, due to the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Malaysia.Based on OIE reports in the last three months, HPAI has not been registered in Malaysia. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Malaysia is negligible.
