Add of prohibited host plants and countries

The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA), Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) in the Republic of Korea, has added host plants and prohibited areas of Zebra chip disease "Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (Ca. L. solanacearum)", one of the prohibited quarantine pests of the Republic of Korea, which is based on the result of Pest Risk Analysis (PRA).

The import condition for the following seeds associated with Ca. L. solanacearum is mandatory Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing from the 12 exporting countries for export to the Republic of Korea. The PCR test should be done by the NPPO or public testing agencies approved by the NPPO in accordance with ISPM 27 (DP 21) or Munyaneza et. al (2012) with phytosanitary certificate, shipped on and after 14 June 2018.Products covered:  carrot (Dacus carota) seeds, celery/celeriac (Apium graveolens) seeds and parsley seeds (Petroselinum crispum) for sowing
