The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of equine originating from Slovak Republic

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 250/1291/1439 dated 4 March 2018 (16/06/1439 H) entitled "Temporary ban on the importation of equine" from Slovak Republic, due to the outbreak of Equine Infectious Anaemia (EIA) in Slovak Republic. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 84/79731/1439 dated 22 July 2018 (09/11/1439 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of equine originating from Slovak Republic.
Based on OIE reports in the last three months, EIA has not been registered in Slovak Republic. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 12.5, the risk of importing equine from Slovak Republic is negligible.
