Draft resolution establishing sanitary requirements for equine animals entering Chile under the temporary admission regime and repealing Resolution No. 8.577 of 2013

With respect to notification G/SPS/N/CHL/583, the Republic of Chile hereby advises that the following amendments have been made to the draft Resolution:
- The following text has been added to point 2.6 with regard to piroplasmosis:
"Or:
If they test positive, they must undergo treatment against ticks within the seven days prior to shipment in the country of origin. Furthermore, at the site of the event in Chile, all necessary measures shall be taken to ensure that equine animals having tested positive for piroplasmosis do not enter into contact with equine animals that have tested negative. They shall be kept in isolation, be monitored regularly by the Agriculture and Livestock Service, and be examined frequently for the presence of ticks. The animals in question shall also undergo external antiparasitic treatment at the site of the event".
- Point 7, which states that:
"The tools and materials accompanying the equine animals were disinfected and disinsectized with products proven to be effective and approved by the competent authority in the exporting country", has been added.
