National Food Safety Standard of the P.R.C.: Food additive Ascorbyl palmitate

This standard is applicable to the food additive ascorbyl palmitate, which is prepared by reacting palmitic acid with thionyl chloride to obtain palmitoyl chloride, followed by a reaction with ascorbic acid, or prepared by enzymatic catalysis using palmitic acid (or ethyl palmitate) and ascorbic acid as raw materials.
