National Standard of the P.R.C.: Feed additive — Betaine hydrochloride

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and labels, packaging, transportation, storage and shelf life of feed additive betaine hydrochloride. This standard is applicable for the synthesis of betaine aqueous solution by reaction of trimethylamine with chloroacetic acid, sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide, and the preparation of betaine hydrochloride as feed additive by concentration, desalination, hydrochloric acid acidification, crystallization and drying. Chapters 1, 4, 5 and 6 of this standard are mandatory, while the rest are recommended.
