The notified draft text seeks to update the phytosanitary requirements for Corylus spp. seeds of any origin, as set forth in Resolutions No. 3305/2003 establishing the requirements for the importation of fruit-tree seeds of any origin other than the United States, No. 3306/2003 establishing the requirements for the importation of fruit-tree seeds from the United States and No. 707/2005 establishing phytosanitary requirements for the entry of seeds of forest-tree species. It also seeks to establish those requirements in a single legal instrument, while also removing the post-entry quarantine requirement for this product.
