The notified text declares banana wilt disease (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4) as a major quarantine pest.
It prohibits the importation of any organism, object or material capable of harbouring or spreading Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 coming from countries where the presence of the fungus has been suspected or confirmed, including:
a. plants for planting;
b. propagation material;
c. in vitro plants;
d. fresh and dried parts of plants from the Musaceae family (including handicrafts made from parts of these plants);
e. soil samples;
f. organic growing media shipped independently or with plants for planting (e.g. coconut fibre and peat);
g. other host materials and regulated goods.
