Description
The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued the Decision No. 156262 dated 19 February 2017 entitled Temporary Ban of Importation of Live Equine from Germany, due to the outbreak of Equine Infectious Anaemia (EIA) in Germany. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued the Decision No. 1441/1291/4211 dated 2 September 2019 (03/01/1441 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live equine originating from Germany.
Based on OIE reports in the last three months, Equine Infectious Anaemia (EIA) has not been registered in Germany. In compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 12.5, the risk of importing live Equine from Germany is negligible.
