Resolución N° SENASA-DG-R038-2019.- Dirección General. Servicio Nacional de Salud Animal (Resolution SENASA-DG-R038-2019 - Directorate-General of the National Animal Health Service)

The notified Resolution orders the temporary suspension of imports from Chile to Costa Rica of the goods specified in Chapter 10.4 "Infection with avian influenza viruses" of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) (live birds, fertile eggs and products and by-products of avian origin) in which trade is authorized and which were produced or obtained 21 calendar days prior to the beginning of the outbreak of notifiable avian influenza reported by the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG).
This excludes products that may be subject to mitigation measures at the place of origin, in accordance with the above Chapter of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, for which the sanitary certificates accompanying imports must indicate the mitigation measures to which the avian products were subject, including irradiation treatment, cooking time and temperature, pasteurization, and sterilization.
SENASA will resume trade in the aforementioned goods three months after the application of the measures established in Article 10.4.3, subparagraph 2, of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code.
