The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Chile

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued Decision No. 113902/1291/1441 dated 15 October entitled "Temporary Ban on the Importation of Live Birds, Hatching Eggs and One-day Old Chicks originating from Chile", due to the outbreak of Avian Influenza in Chile. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued Decision No. 1441/1291/214648 dated 19 November 2019 (23/03/1441 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks originating from Chile.
Based on OIE reports and in compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicks from Chile is negligible.
