Proposed amendments to theSusceptible Species of Aquatic Animals List

Canada is seeking comments on the Susceptible Species of Aquatic Animals List (SSL) to add or remove species as well as change the diseases of concern associated with species currently on the SSL. These updates are to align with changes to the species listed in the disease specific chapters of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Aquatic Animal Health Code.Import permit and zoosanitary export certification may be required for export to Canada of species on the SSL. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the certifying official in the exporting country to refer to Canada's SSL to review the diseases of concern for the species presented for export to ensure Canadian requirements can be met.
