The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture lifts the temporary ban on the importation of livestock originating from Sudan

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued Decision No. 113356/1291/1441 dated 15 October 2019 (16/02/1441 H) entitled "Temporary Ban on the Importation of Livestock originating from Sudan", due to the outbreak Rift Valley Fever (RVF) in Sudan. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has subsequently issued Decision No. 1441/1291/371009 dated 27 January 2020 (02/06/1441 AH), lifting the temporary ban on the importation of Livestock originating from Sudan, with condition of implementing approved veterinarian technical health conditions.Based on study and evaluation the health situation and in compliance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 8.15, the risk of Livestock from Sudan is negligible.
