Modifica resolución No. 1.233 de 2013 que fija exigencias sanitarias para la internación de alimentos y productos para morder para mascotas y deroga resolución No. 53 de 1999 (Amendment to Resolution No. 1.233 of 2013 establishing sanitary requirements for the importation of pet food and pet chews and repealing Resolution No.53 of 1999)

The amendment adjusts the established temperature and time requirements for the production of dog chews based on pork by-products, due to the international risk of infection from African Swine Fever (ASF), which affects a number of countries: 1. Point 2(e)(ii) of Resolution No. 1.233 of 2013 is replaced by the following: "ii. That, in their preparation have been subjected to a minimum temperature of 90 ºC for at least 60 minutes; or to a minimum temperature of 121 ºC for at least 10 minutes, at an absolute pressure of 3 bar; or to some other treatment demonstrated to effectively destroy the etiologic agents of ASF and CSF, which must be evaluated by the Service." 2. The last section of point 2(c)(v) of Resolution No. 1.233 of 2013 is replaced by the following: "These results must be indicated in the official health certificate." 3. Point 2(e)(iii) of Resolution No. 1.233 of 2013 is replaced by the following: "iii. That each batch produced has been subjected to microbiological analysis, which must comply with the levels stated in point 2(c)(v) at least."
