ESTABLECE REQUISITOS FITOSANITARIOS PARA LA IMPORTACIÓN A CHILE DE FRUTOS FRESCOS DE PLÁTANO (Musa spp.) PROCEDENTES DE TODO ORIGEN, MODIFICA RESOLUCIÓN N° 3920 DE 1998 Y DEROGA RESOLUCION 505 DE 2010 (Phytosanitary requirements governing the importation into Chile of fresh bananas (Musa spp.) of any origin, amendment of Resolution No. 3920 of 1998 and repeal of Resolution No. 505 of 2010)

The notified draft Exempt Resolution establishes requirements governing the importation into Chile of fresh bananas (Musa spp.) for consumption, produced in various origins.
The provisions of this Resolution include:
- The bananas must come from production and packing facilities registered by the exporting country's national plant protection organization (NPPO), and authorized by the NPPO through unique identification codes.
- To enter the country, consignments must be covered by an official phytosanitary certificate (original copy) issued by the plant health authority of the country of origin. This document must contain additional declarations for certain pests, such as: Dysmicoccus brevipes, Dismicoccus neobrevipes, Ferrisia virgata, Maconelliicoccus hirsutus, Nipaecoccus nipae, Pseudococcus comstocki, Pseudococcus jackbeardsleyi, Lissachatina fulica y Succinea spp; Opogona sacchari (Coleoptera:Curculionidae); Bactrocera musae; Bactrocera spp;
- An additional declaration other than the one provided in Article 3.1, stating that the pest/s is/are not present in the country of origin, will also be accepted.
- Processing conditions in accordance with the guidelines set out in the relevant International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) International Standard(s) for Phytosanitary Measures for the recognition of areas free from Bactrocera spp.
- How to proceed, prior to the first export season, and coordination of a visit from SAG inspectors to the producing country for various purposes.
- Specific packing conditions, and containers; packaging that allows for phytosanitary treatments to be carried out if required.
- Specific prerequisites for the issuance of phytosanitary certificates.
- Inspection conditions upon arrival in Chile and actions in the event of detection of any stage of development, live or dead, of Bactrocera spp.
- Inspections and supervision that can be carried out by SAG and those that must be carried out by the exporting country's NPPO on a periodic basis.
