Fija exigencias sanitarias para la importación a Chile de tripas de rumiantes y deroga resolución N° 316 de 1992 (Sanitary requirements governing the importation into Chile of ruminant casings, and repeal of Resolution No. 316 of 1992)

The notified draft sanitary requirements for the importation of ruminant casings include the following:
- The country or zone of origin must be recognized by the OIE as officially free from foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination and from sheep and goat plague. It must also be officially recognized as having a negligible risk of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and declared by the OIE to be free from scrapie.
- The animals must have been born, reared and slaughtered in the country or zone of origin. Their slaughter must not have occurred due to disease or in areas subject to sanitary restrictions. The animals must have been slaughtered in establishments under official control that are free from communicable diseases, with an ante- and post-mortem inspection.
- The slaughterhouses and processing establishments must be authorized by SAG to export to Chile. Moreover, the slaughterhouses must be subject to permanent official veterinary inspection, and processing establishments to an official supervision programme.
- Products coming from a country free from foot-and-mouth disease with vaccination are accepted, provided that they undergo one of the treatments outlined in the Resolution.
- There must be compliance with specific transport conditions regarding the sealing, hygiene and safety of both the means of transport and packages or containers, which must be inspected by the authority prior to shipment.
- The official sanitary certificate must: include the date of issuance, comply with sanitary requirements, be issued in Spanish and the official language of the country of origin, and contain specific and detailed information on the origin indicated.
- Upon arrival in the country, casings may be subject to controls and examinations ordered, when justified, by SAG, the cost of which will be borne by users.
