Resolución Exenta Nº 6684/2020, Establece provisoriamente medidas de emergencia para el ingreso de Plátanos y flores cortadas procedentes de Ecuador, y modifica las resoluciones Exentas que indica (Exempt Resolution No. 6684/2020 temporarily establishing emergency measures for the importation of bananas and cut flowers from Ecuador and amending the indicated Exempt Resolutions)

The notified Exempt Resolution establishes temporary emergency measures for the importation of fresh bananas from Ecuador, in addition to the requirements laid down in Exempt Resolution No. 3920/1998 establishing import requirements for pineapples, bananas and coconuts.
a. The phytosanitary certificate must include:
The number or code of the container's official seal;
The container number;
The date of inspection of the consignments.
b. The consignment must come in containers or means of transport with official seals from the exporting country's national plant protection organization (NPPO); the boxes or other types of packaging must be properly palletized and can be filled to up to 80% of their capacity.
c. The packaging materials must meet the conditions required for possible phytosanitary fumigation treatments at destination. The regulated item must not be wrapped or covered with materials that will prevent the penetration of the fumigant. Fumigation is not permitted when the packaging material consists of sponge, foam or expanded polyethylene (EPE foam).
d. Wood used for packaging, pallets and dunnage must comply with the "Guidelines for regulating wood packaging material in international trade" (ISPM No. 15) and with the existing SAG rules establishing quarantine regulations governing the importation of wood packaging.
