Botanical tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) seed originating in and coming from Brazil Please be advised that the public consultation period for WTO Members in respect of the requirements proposed by the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service (SENASICA) for the importation into Mexico of botanical tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) seeds originating in and coming from Brazil, has now closed. The notified document, in accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, states that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service have established phytosanitary requirements governing the importation into Mexico of fresh Cape gooseberries (Physalis peruviana L.) with and without calyxes, intended for consumption, originating in and coming from Colombia.

In accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Mexico advises that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service have established phytosanitary requirements governing the importation into Mexico of polished rice (Oryza sativa L.) originating in and coming from Japan.

In accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Mexico advises that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service have established phytosanitary requirements for the importation into Mexico of fresh papaya (Carica papaya L.).

In accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Mexico advises that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service have established phytosanitary requirements governing the importation into Mexico of fresh lemons (Citrus limon) originating in and coming from Argentina.

In accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Mexico advises that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service have established phytosanitary requirements governing the importation into Mexico of sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea var. Crescent) seed originating in and coming from Spain.

Preliminary draft amending the Agreement establishing criteria for determining maximum residue and contaminant limits, criteria governing the use of analytical methods, the national programme for the control and monitoring of toxic residues in goods of animal origin and aquaculture and fishery resources, the programme for the monitoring of toxic residues in animals, the national programme for the monitoring of pesticide residues in plants, and the consultation module, all of which are regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development The purpose of this preliminary draft is to formally establish and develop the national programme for the monitoring of pesticide residues in plants, which is provided for in Article 42 bis of the Federal Law on Plant Health published in the Official Journal on 5 January 1994. The purpose of this Agreement is to establish within the United Mexican States the following: - The maximum permissible limits for toxic residues and contaminants in goods of animal origin and aquaculture and fishery resources for human and animal consumption; - Criteria for the use, application and interpretation of analytical results and methods for identifying and/or quantifying toxic residues, contaminants and pesticide residues; - The national programme for the control and monitoring of toxic residues in goods of animal origin and aquaculture and fishery resources; - The programme for the monitoring of toxic residues in animals; and - The national programme for the monitoring of pesticide residues in plants. https://members.wto.org/crnattachments/2021/SPS/MEX/21_6499_00_s.pdf

The purpose of the notified Decision is to notify and establish the rules for the use of the National Emblem for Organic Products, with the specifications, colour patterns and other features that are defined in the Decision.

In accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Mexico advises that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service have established the phytosanitary requirements for the importation into Mexico of melon (Cucumis melo L.) seeds.

The notified text amends the Fourth Transitional Article of the Decision establishing the goods the import of which is subject to regulation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the issuance of the certificate of origin for exporting coffee, published in the Official Journal of 26 December 2020, which now reads as follows: "FOURTH.- The provisions of Article 7 shall enter into force as from 1 January 2022."
