In order to prevent the introduction of H5N1 high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany, including those shipped through third countries, since 9 November 2021 based on the "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from Germany" and the articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of H5N1 high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry from Germany and poultry meat and egg products from the states of Schleswig Holstein and Lower Saxony of Germany, including those shipped through third countries, since 25 October 2021 based on the "Animal Health Requirements for day-old chicks and hatching eggs to be exported to Japan from Germany", "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from Germany" and the articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of H5N1 high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Denmark, including those shipped through third countries, since 4 November 2021 based on the "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from Denmark" and the articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of H5 high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from Ukraine, including those shipped through third countries, since 18 October 2021 based on the "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from Ukraine (Except Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol, Luhansk Oblast and Donetsk Oblast)" and the articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of H5N1 high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of poultry meat and egg products from the state of Brandenburg of Germany, including those shipped through third countries, since 4 November 2021 based on the "Animal Health Requirements for day-old chicks and hatching eggs to be exported to Japan from Germany", "Animal Health Requirements for poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from Germany" and the articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control".

In order to prevent the introduction of H7 Low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) virus into Japan, MAFF has suspended the import of live poultry, poultry meat and egg products from the state of California in the United States of America, including those shipped through third countries, since 8 October 2021 based on articles 37 and 44 of the "Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Disease Control", "Animal Health Requirements for day old chicks and hatching eggs to be exported to Japan from the United States" and "Animal Health Requirements for the poultry meat etc. to be exported to Japan from the US".

MAFF will designate Muramidase as a feed additive and establish its standards and specifications by the Ministerial Ordinance in "Public Announcement: the Ministerial Public Announcement Regarding the Designation of Feed Additives (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Public Announcement No. 750 issued on 24 July 1976)" and "Ministerial Ordinance on the Specifications and Standards of Feeds and Feed Additives "(Ordinance No. 35 of 24 July 1976 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry).(Proposed amendment) Muramidase is allowed to be used as a feed additive for broilers only.

This provides information about a proposed designation of plant species that require a notification prior to their seed and/or seedling importation, along with its proposed due date.
