Costa Rica hereby advises that the phytosanitary measures notified in document G/SPS/N/CRI/213 have been adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 079-2019-ARP-SFE. Orders the temporary suspension of imports of the commodities indicated in Chapter 10.4 ("Infection with avian influenza viruses") of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code from Monterey County, California, United States of America, produced or obtained 21 calendar days prior to the beginning of the notified outbreak and from establishments that have not received products from the affected county. This excludes products that may be subject to mitigation measures at the place of origin, in accordance with the above Chapter of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code, for which the sanitary certificates accompanying imports must indicate the mitigation measures to which the avian products were subject, including irradiation treatment, cooking time and temperature, pasteurization, and sterilization. SENASA may permit the resumption of trade in the aforementioned goods three months after compliance with the measures laid down in Article 10.4.3(2) of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code.

Costa Rica hereby advises that the phytosanitary measures notified in document G/SPS/N/CRI/209, which amend phytosanitary requirements relating to fresh grapes (Vitis vinifera) for consumption originating in Mexico, have been adopted under Resolution No. 060-2019-ARP-SFE. SENASA requires that establishments engaged in the storage, marketing, transportation, distribution and use of veterinary drugs and related products comply with the CAMEVET guide to good practices for the storage, transportation and distribution of products for veterinary use.

The notified draft Resolution establishes mandatory phytosanitary measures for the importation of regulated articles that are hosts of Trogoderma granarium Everts 1898 from countries in which this pest is present.

Mandatory phytosanitary measures are established for the importation of plants for planting of all reported hosts of the pest Chaetocnema confinis originating in any country where the presence of the pest is reported.

Implementation of an emergency phytosanitary measure justified on technical grounds to avoid the introduction of the Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV), Melon necrotic spot virus (MNSV), Zucchini green mottle mosaic virus (ZGMMV) and Kyuri green mottle mosaic virus (KGMMV), which are transmissible by Cucurbitaceae plants for planting.

Amendments are made to existing phytosanitary requirements regarding fresh grapes (Vitis vinifera) for consumption originating in Mexico.

The notified text amends the phytosanitary requirements governing the importation of regulated articles that may transmit Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4, which are established in Resolution No. 004-2017-NR-SFE. It also removes the requirement for post-entry quarantine and specifies the use of in vitro meristem culture.

On 19 February 2018, the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica notified, in document G/SPS/N/CRI/197, the draft regulation "RTCA No. 67.04.75:17: Dairy products. Matured cheese. Specifications", whose purpose was to establish the specifications to be met by matured cheese, as defined in that RTCA. The regulation applies to matured cheese intended for direct human consumption or further processing in the territory of the States Parties. On 5 August 2008, the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica notified, in document G/SPS/N/CRI/69, the draft regulation "RTCA No. 65.05.51:08: Veterinary drugs and related products, and establishments engaged in the manufacture, marketing, fractioning or storage thereof. Sanitary registration and control requirements", whose purpose was to establish provisions governing the sanitary registration and control of veterinary drugs, related products and establishments. The regulation applies to veterinary drugs and related products and to establishments engaged in the registration, manufacture, marketing, dispensing or distribution, fractioning or storage thereof in the States Parties. The sanitary registration of raw materials for the preparation of veterinary drugs and related products and compounded veterinary formulations is excluded from the scope of the regulation and remains subject to the domestic laws of each State Party. The purpose of the present addendum is to notify WTO Members that the regulation has been revised, amended and updated. The following mandatory phytosanitary measures are established (in addition to existing requirements) for the importation of plants for planting (except seeds, unrooted cuttings, twigs, tubers, grafts and in vitro plants), with growing medium, of all reported host species from any country in which the presence of Adoretus sinicus (Chinese rose beetle) is reported. a. Shipments must be free from Adoretus sinicus. (Shipments require an official phytosanitary certificate issued by the country of origin, which indicates, in the section for additional declarations, that they are free from Adoretus sinicus.) b. Shipments will be subject to phytosanitary actions upon arrival in the country.

Phytosanitary requirements for the importation of plants for planting of all reported host species of Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum haplotypes C, D and E.

The following mandatory phytosanitary measures are established for the importation of plants for planting of all reported hosts of the pest Cassida bivittata (L.) from any country where the pest is reported. a. Shipments require an official phytosanitary certificate issued by the country of origin, which indicates, in the section for additional declarations, that they are free from Cassida bivittata (L.). b. Shipments will be subject to phytosanitary actions upon arrival in the country.
