As new internationally recognized phytosanitary treatments being used to control Halyomorpha halys (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) regulate the international movement of used vehicles, machinery and equipment, the notified text sets forth phytosanitary requirements for the entry of used goods from the United States of America that could carry the said pest.

Phytosanitary import requirements are set forth for fresh mangoes (Mangifera indica) for consumption, produced in Viet Nam.

1. The notified text amends Agriculture and Livestock Service Resolution 2.458 of 2013 establishing phytosanitary requirements for the importation into Chile of fresh stone fruit from the State of California in the United States of America, by: 2. removing the following sentence from point 2.1: "The consignment has undergone phytosanitary treatment for the control of Drosophila suzukii (Dip.: Drosophilidae)"; 3. removing the following sentence from point 2.2 entitled "For fresh cherries": "The consignment has undergone phytosanitary treatment for the control of Drosophila suzukii (Dip.: Drosophilidae)"; 4. replacing point 3 by "For fresh peaches, nectarines, Japanese plums, European plums, apricots and cherries, fumigation treatment using methyl bromide for Epiphyas postvittana (Lep.: Tortricidae) will be accepted, and must be carried out at the place of origin or the destination. The specifications regarding the treatment must be indicated in the corresponding section of the phytosanitary certificate: Temperature (°C); Dosage range (gr/m3); Exposure time (hr) > 22 32 2 17 - 22 40 2 12 - 17 48 2 6 - 12 64 2 Once the treatment has been completed, the shipment must remain protected at all times until it has been dispatched to Chile".

Resolution No. 7.675 of 2016, which sets forth phytosanitary requirements for the importation into Chile of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum = Lycopersicum esculentum) and paprika and chilli pepper (Capsicum annuum) seeds, is amended as follows: 1.1. The species Capsicum annuum (var. longum, grossum) is deleted from the table in Article 1. 1.2. The following text is added after Capparis spp.: __________________________ SPECIES: Capsicum annuum ADDITIONAL DECLARATION: 1.1 The consignment has been treated for the control of Colletotrichum acutatum and Colletotrichum capsici, with the treatment specified in the corresponding section of the phytosanitary certificate, or 1.2 The consignment is from a nursery that was inspected during the active growth period and found to be free from Colletotrichum acutatum and Colletotrichum capsici. AND 2.1 The consignment is from a nursery that was inspected and analysed by means of [indicate diagnostic technique] during the active growth period and found to be free from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV), or 2.2 The consignment is free from Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV), as per the results of an official laboratory analysis, with an indication of the diagnostic technique used. __________________________ 1.3. The additional declarations in the table in Article 1 for Solanum lycopersicum (=Lycopersicon esculentum) and Lycopersicon esculentum x Lycopersicon hirsutum are replaced with the following: __________________________ SPECIES: Solanum lycopersicum (=Lycopersicon esculentum) Lycopersicon esculentum x Lycopersicon hirsutum ADDITIONAL DECLARATION: 1.1 The consignment is from a nursery that was inspected and analysed by means of [indicate diagnostic technique] during the active growth period and found to be free from Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) and Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV), or The consignment is free from Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) and Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV), as per the results of an official laboratory analysis, with an indication of the diagnostic technique used. __________________________ 2. The notified Resolution will enter into effect 30 days after its publication in the Chilean Official Journal. 3. Consignments that are en route to Chile with a certification dated prior to the WTO notification of the publication of the resolution may be analysed in the official SAG laboratory. The analysis will be conducted on seedlings, at the importer's expense.

Public consultation concerning the amendment to Ministry of Health Exempt Resolution No. 711/2002 on the veterinary medical inspection of livestock and their meat. Draft amendment to Exempt Resolution No. 711/2002 adopting Technical Standard No. 62 on the veterinary medical inspection of livestock for slaughter and their meat in Title III: Special procedures, Section II, Methods for the investigation of Trichinella. This method is only considered equivalent for detection in meat of domestic swine. The PrioCHECK® Trichinella AAD Kit will be used in accordance with its instruction manual, with separating funnels (Lenz NS 29/32) and a 80 ml glass test tube." 3rd column Justification/rationale for the comment or proposal: An additional method is included for the detection of Trichinella spiralis in meat of domestic swine. This method was adopted by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1375 laying down specific rules on official controls for Trichinella in meat, which has been in force since its publication on 10 August 2015.

The following is a general outline of the health requirements for importing small ruminants into Chile for slaughter: - The country or zone that the animals come from must be officially declared by the OIE to be free from rinderpest and foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination. The country or zone must also be declared free from the other diseases indicated in point 1.1 of the notified document, and this health status must be recognized by Chile. - If the animals come from a country or zone that is not free from scrapie, the records indicated in point 1.2 must be provided. The subsequent points address requirements relating to: o The animals' establishments of origin; o The place where the animals were born and reared; o Quarantine conditions; o Transport conditions; o The absence of clinical signs of infectious or contagious diseases that can affect the species and of evidence of ectoparasites during the 48 hours prior to shipment; o The animals must be covered by an official health certificate meeting the conditions set out in point 1.9; o Additional requirements in the event of entry into zones or regions free from certain diseases. Lastly, the steps taken upon arrival in the country are indicated: - After being authorized to enter the country, the animals will be transported directly to the slaughterhouse in sealed means of transport. - If any transmissible disease is detected, the Agriculture and Livestock Service may order the animals to be returned or slaughtered, as applicable; - If the Agriculture and Livestock Service deems it necessary, the animals will be subjected to diagnostic testing upon arrival at the slaughterhouse.

At the request of a third country, Chile hereby advises that the final date for comments in respect of notification G/SPS/N/CHL/599, published on 28 March 2019, has been extended to 27 May 2019.

The notified text establishes health requirements for horses that are returning to Chile after having left the country temporarily for no longer than 60 days to participate in competitions or other events. It does not apply to horses that have left the country for breeding purposes. If horses are away from Chile for longer than 60 days, they must comply with the requirements established for horses entering definitively or under the dual hemisphere shuttle system.
