Following the WOAH report dated 12 May 2023, a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus outbreak has occurred in Landes and Gers in France. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI virus into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Landes and Gers in France to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of HPAI virus, as long as it conforms to the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in France to prove that the product is free from the virus).

Following the WOAH report dated 1 April 2023, a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus outbreak has occurred in Cordoba in Argentina. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI virus into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Cordoba in Argentina to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of HPAI virus, as long as it conforms to the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in Argentina to prove that the product is free from the virus).

Based on a WOAH report dated 14 April 2023, Wielkopolskie and Łódzkie in Poland are free from HPAI. In compliance with the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Wielkopolskie and Łódzkie in Poland is negligible.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 24452 dated 20 April 2023, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of meat and meat by‑products (chilled, frozen and processed) from cattle, goats, sheep and camelidae originating from Orkhon in Mongolia based on the WOAH Report dated 26 December 2022, indicating that Orkhon in Mongolia is free of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), and continuation of the temporary ban of the importation of meat and meat by-products (chilled, frozen and processed) from cattle, goats, sheep and camelidaefrom the Republic of Korea and Japan.

Based on a WOAH report dated 26 April 2023, Gers, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes, Maine-et-Loire, Vendée, Loire-Atlantique, Deux-Sèvres, Morbihan, Ain in France are free from HPAI. In compliance with the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4, the risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from Gers, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes, Maine-et-Loire, Vendée, Loire-Atlantique, Deux-Sèvres, Morbihan, Ain in France is negligible.

Based on a WOAH report, the State of Kuwait is free from foot and mouth disease. In compliance with the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 8.8, the risk of importing bovine and sheep meat from the State of Kuwait is negligible.

Following the WOAH report which indicates that a Foot-and-mouth disease outbreak has occurred in Türkiye, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of livestock from Türkiye to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the WOAH report which indicates that an Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) disease has occurred in Uruguay, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of equine from Uruguay to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 23531 dated 10 April 2023, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Mazowieckie in Poland based on the WOAH Report dated 23 March 2023, indicating that Mazowieckie in Poland is free of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI).

Health certificates were modified based on the comments of Members, with the creation of new certificates as follows:-       Health Certificate for Exporting Feed Products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Animal origin or containing animal protein);-       Health Certificate for Exporting Feed of Unproductive Animals to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (containing animal protein);-       Health Certificate for Exporting Feed Products/and Feed of Unproductive Animals to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Plant origin); and-       Health Certificate for re-exporting Feed Products of third country to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.In addition, the conditions and requirements for importing fodder into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been updated.

Following the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Report, White spot syndrome virus has been detected in imported frozen shrimp from India. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) Aquatic Animal Health Code Chapter 9.8, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of White spot syndrome virus into the country until the Indian side provides sufficient clarification to ensure the safety of the exported products from the virus.

After a technical visit to South Africa done by a Saudi specialty team, they recommended open the importation of live animals from South Africa to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Environment Water and Agriculture is lifting the temporary ban on the importation of equine originated from Parana and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

Following the WOAH report which indicates that a Foot-and-mouth disease outbreak has occurred in Jordan, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the disease into the country. Therefore, the importation of livestock from Jordan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.

Following the WOAH report dated 27 January 2023, a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus outbreak has occurred in Landes in France. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI virus into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Landes in France to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of HPAI virus, as long as it conforms to the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in France to prove that the product is free from the virus).

This technical regulation is concerned with the requirements of nutritional formulas intended for pregnant and lactating women.

Following the WOAH report dated 18 January 2023, a Newcastle disease virus outbreak has occurred in Pyrénées-Atlantiques in France. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.9, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of Newcastle disease virus into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Pyrénées-Atlantiques in France to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of Newcastle disease virus, as long as it conforms to the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies  in France to prove that the product is free from the virus).

Following the WOAH report dated 18 November 2022, a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) outbreak has occurred in Finistère, Mayenne and Côtes-d'Armor in France. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Finistère, Mayenne and Côtes-d'Armor in France to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.However, based on a WOAH report dated 20 December 2022, Finistère in France is in compliance with the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Chapter 10.4. The risk of importing poultry meat, eggs and their products from (Finistère) in France is negligible. Therefore, the temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Finistère in France has been lifted.

Following the Embassy of Poland in Saudi Arabia report dated 28 December 2022, a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) outbreak has occurred in Wielkopolskie in Poland. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of avian influenza viruses) from Wielkopolskie in Poland to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended.
