Following the WOAH report dated 16 October 2025, a Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus outbreak has occurred in Loire-Atlantique in France. In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the HPAI virus into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Loire-Atlantique in France to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of the HPAI virus, as long as it conforms with the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in France prove that the product is free from the virus).

This technical regulation specifies the requirements to be met by grain factories, warehouses, feed stores, feed sales outlets, and packaging and repackaging facilities, to ensure compliance with the regulations and standards approved by the Authority and adherence to good manufacturing practices, thereby ensuring food and feed safety and security.

This technical regulation addresses the hygienic practices to be observed during the transportation of feed.

This technical regulation addresses the requirements for the packaging and wrapping of all types of feed and feed products, including the use of materials such as metal, glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, wood, and any other substances used for this purpose.

Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Wielkopolskie in Poland to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of the HPAI virus, as long as it conforms with the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in Poland prove that the product is free from the virus).

In compliance with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the HPAI virus into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Southern Denmark in Denmark to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of the HPAI virus, as long as it conforms with the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in Denmark prove that the product is free from the virus).

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Notice of Administration Order of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority Ref. No. 9063 dated 31 August 2025 entitled “Temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Buenos Aires in Argentina”. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 14729 dated 7 October 2025, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Buenos Aires in Argentina, based on the WOAH report dated 29 September 2025, indicating that Buenos Aires in Argentina is free from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI).

Following the WOAH report dated 22 September 2025, a Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus outbreak has occurred in Warmińsko-Mazurskie in Poland. In compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of the HPAI virus into the country. Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Warmińsko-Mazurskie in Poland to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of the HPAI virus, as long as it conforms with the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in Poland prove that the product is free from the virus).

Therefore, the import of poultry meat, eggs and their products from Buenos Aires in Argentina to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended (with the exception of processed poultry meat and egg products exposed to either heat or other treatments that ensure deactivation of the HPAI virus, as long as it conforms with the approved health requirements, and standards, with a health certificate issued by the official bodies in Argentina prove that the product is free from the virus).

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 6807 dated 14 August 2025, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Wielkopolskie in Poland, based on the WOAH report dated 20 May 2025, indicating that Wielkopolskie in Poland is free of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI).

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Notice of Administration Order of Saudi Food and Drug Authority Ref. No. 27511 dated 12 December 2024 entitled “Temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Mazowieckie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie in Poland”. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 6807 dated 14 August 2025, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Warmińsko-Mazurskie in Poland, based on the WOAH report dated 20 May 2025, indicating that Warmińsko-Mazurskie in Poland is free of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI).

Please note that the notification G/SPS/N/SAU/543/Add.1, titled “Notice of Administration Order of Saudi Food and Drug Authority Ref. No. 27511 dated 12 December 2024 entitled "Temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Mazowieckie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie in Poland””, dated 20 August 2025, was distributed erroneously and therefore should be considered null and void.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 6650 dated 13 August 2025, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Podlaskie in Poland, based on the WOAH report dated 20 May 2025, indicating that Podlaskie in Poland is free of Newcastle disease.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 6807 dated 14 August 2025, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Małopolskie in Poland, based on the WOAH report dated 20 May 2025, indicating that Małopolskie in Poland is free of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI).

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issued the Notice of Administration Order of Saudi Food and Drug Authority Ref. No. 51504 dated 22 May 2025 entitled “Temporary ban on importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil”. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has subsequently issued the Notice Administrative Order No. 6639 dated 13 August 2025, lifting the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, eggs and their products originating from Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, based on the WOAH report dated 18 June 2025, indicating that Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil is free of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI).
