The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) considered the existing notifications of the Ministry of Public Health regarding tea infusion should be revised in order to update the list of plants and parts of plant used as ingredient for tea infusion for more effective of consumer health protection and fair practice of trade.Clause 1. Clause 3 of the notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 426) B.E. 2564 (2021), issued under the Food Act B.E. 2522 (1979), regarding Herbal Tea, dated 29 March B.E. 2564 (2021), is hereby repealed and replaced with the following:"Clause 3: "Tea infusion" means a product obtained from parts of plants and fungi that are processed by drying and may rough grinding or diminishing for consumption by boiling or infusing with water."Clause 2. The plant and plant part listed as No. 92, licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), in the list of plants and plant parts permitted for use as raw materials for tea infusion in the annex of the notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 426) B.E. 2564 (2021), issued under the Food Act B.E. 2522 (1979), regarding Herbal Tea dated 29 March 2021, is hereby repealed.Clause 3. The plants and plant parts listed in the annex to this notification shall be added as items numbered 202 to 311 in the existing list of raw materials permitted for tea infusion, appended to the notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 426) B.E. 2564 (2021), issued under the Food Act B.E. 2522 (1979), regarding Tea Infusion, dated 29 March 2021.Clause 4. Producers or importers for sale of tea infusion containing licorice (item No. 92) as specified in Clause 2, who were authorized prior to the effective date of this notification, may continue to sell their products for a period not exceeding one year from the effective date.Clause 5. Producers or importers for sale of tea infusion containing plants listed in Clause 3, items No. 202 to 311, who were authorized prior to the effective date of this notification, may continue to sell their products for a period not exceeding two years from the effective date.Producers or importers of tea infusion containing plants listed in Clause 3, items No. 202 to 311, are required to comply fully with this notification within two years from its effective date.Clause 6. In order to update and comply with international standards, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) is proposing to revise the MOPH Notifications, as follows:The provision in (2) of Clause 2 of the Ministry of Public Health Notification No. 390 (B.E. 2561), issued under the Food Act B.E. 2522, concerning the Prescribed foods which have criteria, condition, and method of use in food produced for sale, imported for sale or sold, dated 31 August 2018, shall be repealed and replaced with the following: Methyl alcohol (methyl alcohol) or methanol shall be permitted for use only as a processing aid in the production of the following foods:(a) Food additives, according to the Ministry of Public Health Notification on Food Additives;(b) Foods that have undergone safety assessment;(c) Foods intended for export.
For consumer protection, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) is proposing to revise the MOPH Notification Food in a Hermetically Sealed Container to modernize the regulatory framework for food in sealed containers in line with current scientific knowledge, technological advancements, and food safety standards. The main elements of the draft MOPH notification are as follows:Revocation of the Previous Notification (Notification No. 355 B.E. 2556 on “Food in a Sealed Container” (Clause 1));Revised Definition and Criteria for Foods in Sealed Containers by emphasizing water activity values and sterilization methods (Clause 3) and food types are categorized into low-acid foods and acidified/acid foods, with specific pH thresholds and additional quality criteria (Clauses 5–6); Updated Labelling Requirements by drain weight must be declared on the label for foods where the solid portion can be separated from the liquid. (Clause 11);This MOPH Notification shall come into force after the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.
The WOAH has reported an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1) in the area of the Republic of Korea. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1) into the country. By the virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from the Republic of Korea has been temporarily suspended.
The draft announcement on SPS measures for imported peanut kernels notified in G/SPS/N/THA/216/Add.3 (dated 11 March 2025) was published in the Royal Gazette on 17 June 2025.Date of entry into force: 18 June 2025 (This notification shall come into force on the day after its publication in the Royal Gazette.)

By the virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Brazil has been temporarily suspended.

Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1) into the country. By the virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Poland has been temporarily suspended.
On 3 March 2025, the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) has lifted the temporary suspension of the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Finistère in France, which was implemented based on the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015) in order to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into Thailand.

Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza into the country. By the virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from certain areas of Hungary has been temporarily suspended.

By the virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Australia has been temporarily suspended.

Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1) into the country. By the virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Japan has been temporarily suspended.
The WOAH has reported an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1) in the area of Italy. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (Subtype H5N1) into the country. By the virtue of the Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation or transit of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Italy has been temporarily suspended.
The notification B.E. 2559 (2016) of the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards (ACFS), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, regarding "Peanut kernel: Maximum level of aflatoxin" notified in G/SPS/N/THA/216 dated on 23 July 2013, has been adopted in the Official Gazette dated 7 January 2016, as notified in G/SPS/N/THA/216/Add.1 dated 3 February 2016.ACFS hereby issues the draft Announcement of the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards regarding the SPS measures for the importation of peanut kernel from foreign countries. The inspection measures for imported peanut kernel are divided into three levels as follows:Monitoring Inspection: This measure applies to peanut kernel imported from countries without risk of non-compliance with standards or recording the exporter in abroad in accordance with the Bureau's general surveillance plan;Enhanced Monitoring Inspection: This applies to peanut kernel imported from countries where non-compliance has been detected in significantly higher quantities than the results of surveillance in (1) of the previous year's import history that may endanger public health. The proportion of inspection shall be increased to 30% of the previous year's import history;100% Order Inspection: This applies to peanut kernel imported from countries where non-compliance has been detected in significantly higher quantities than the results of Enhanced Monitoring Inspection as described in (2) of the previous year's import history that may endanger public health, which the Bureau has already notified the relevant competent authority and no corrective measures report to improve the standard control system has been received. The Bureau shall escalate the inspection to 100% Order Inspection, where officials shall detain products and collect samples for importer to have analysed by a laboratory accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 for aflatoxin analysis and present the analysis results to officials.This announcement shall enter into force on the day after its publication in the Royal Gazette.

The Ministerial Regulation revoking the Ministerial Regulation on the Establishment of Thai Agricultural Standards on Code of Practice for Mushroom Culture as Mandatory Standards B.E. 2560 (2017), B.E. 2568 (2025), was published in the Government Gazette on 13 February 2025, and is effective immediately.Date of entry into force: 13 February 2025

In order to facilitate easy recycling of plastic bottles, reduce contamination of chemicals from inks, glue, and small plastic label fragment in recycled plastic materials, and reduce plastic label waste, this draft of notification of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) (No. …) B.E. .... issued by virtue of the Food Act B.E. 2522 Re: Mineral Water (No. 2) amends the detail of labelling requirements beyond the notification of MOPH on labelling of pre-packaged foods. The display of labelling on the mineral water bottles will be allowed to voluntarily use label-free techniques (e.g., embossing, engraving) and digital labelling (e.g., QR code) to provide food information to consumers. The name of the food, trademark, symbol, brand name, food serial number, and volume should be provided on the bottle using techniques e.g. embossing or engraving, together with a digital labelling. Likewise, the manufacturing date, expiration date, or best-before date are required to be displayed on the individual bottles.Additional information, such as name and address of manufacturer, importer, or head office, carbonation, chemical composition, geographic location, declared treatment or modification can be provided only in the digital labelling.
