According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 20 July 2021, the suspension for importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Lao People's Democratic Republic has expired on 18 October 2021. However, the Lao People's Democratic Republic has not been self-declaration for the recovery of country freedom from African Swine Fever disease according to the OIE report. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Lao People's Democratic Republic is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days notified since 19 October 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (19 October 2021).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 20 July 2021, the suspension for importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Viet Nam has expired on 18 October 2021. However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the area of Viet Nam. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Viet Nam is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days notified since 19 October 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (19 October 2021).

The Draft Ministry of Public Health Notification (MOPH) entitled "Food Products that Contain Cannabis or Hemp Parts", previously notified in G/SPS/N/THA/418 dated 15 June 2021, was adopted and published in the Royal Gazette dated 27 August 2021 as Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 429) entitled " Food Products Containing Cannabidiol Extract".Date of entry into force: This notification shall come into force as from the day following date of its publication in the Government Gazette (28 August 2021).Text available at:http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/PDF/2564/E/198/T_0009.PDFThis Ministry of Public Health Notification was also notified under the TBT notification as G/TBT/N/THA/623/Add.1.

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 1 June 2021, the suspension for importation of live prawns and prawn carcasses (including Penaeus vannameiP. monodon and P. stylirostris) from Madagascar has expired on 30 August 2021. However, the results of the investigation and corrective action plan from Madagascar have not been received. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Infectious Hypodermal and Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHHNV) into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live prawns and prawn carcasses (including Penaeus vannameiP. monodon and P. stylirostris) from Madagascar is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after publication in the Thai Royal Gazette (17 September 2021).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 1 June 2021, the suspension for importation of live prawns and prawn carcasses (including Penaeus vannamei, P. monodon and P. stylirostris) from Ecuador has expired on 30 August 2021. However, White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV), Infectious Hypodermal and Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHHNV) and Yellow Head Virus (YHV) have been detected in frozen marine shrimps imported from Ecuador. In addition, the evaluation of disease control system of Ecuador for frozen marine shrimps exported to Thailand is still in progress. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV), Infectious Hypodermal and Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHHNV) and Yellow Head Virus (YHV) into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live prawns and prawn carcasses (including Penaeus vannameiP. monodon and P. stylirostris) from Ecuador is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days after publication in the Thai Royal Gazette (17 September 2021).

Recently Mitragyna speciosa (Korth.) Havil, commonly known as "kratom," has been removed from the list of controlled narcotics in Schedule V under the Narcotics Act B.E. 2522 (1972) that was amended by the Narcotics Act (No. 8) B.E. 2564 (2021), effectively decriminalizing the consumption, production, and possession of kratom, for any purpose and in any quantity or form.Food products containing kratom are considered as novel food under the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 376) B.E.2559 (2016) regarding novel food of which safety for consumption shall be assessed prior to being sold in Thailand.By the virtue of the articles 5 and 6(8) of the Food Act of B.E. 2522 (1979), the Minister of Public Health hereby issued the (draft) Notification as follows:Clause 1 – According to the Annex of the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 424) B.E. 2564 (2021) regarding the prescription of prohibited food to be produced, imported, or sold (published on 25 February 2021), Mitragyna speciosa (Korth.) Havil. (Kratom) (whole plant) and its extract (item No. 52) are prohibited from being produced, imported, or sold except those that safety for consumption as food is evaluated and the product label is submitted to the Food and Drug Administration for approval before use as prescribed in the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health regarding Novel Food.Clause 2 – This notification shall enter into force from the day following the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.

However, the OIE reported Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the area of India. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from India is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 9 September 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (9 September 2021).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 10 June 2021, the suspension for importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Bulgaria has expired on 8 September 2021. However, the OIE reported Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the area of Bulgaria. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Bulgaria is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 9 September 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (9 September 2021).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 10 June 2021, the suspension for importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from the United Kingdom has expired on 8 September 2021. However, the OIE reported Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in many areas of the United Kingdom. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Herefordshire, Leicestershire, North Yorkshire, Norfolk, Derbyshire, Dorset, Devon, Orkney and Antrim counties of the United Kingdom is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 9 September 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (9 September 2021).

By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Staffordshire and Anglesey counties of the United Kingdom is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 9 September 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (9 September 2021).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 21 May 2021, the suspension for importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Indonesia has expired on 19 August 2021. However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Indonesia is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days  since 20 August 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (20 August 2021).

However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of Myanmar. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from Myanmar is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 20 August 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (20 August 2021).

However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) (Serotype H5N8) in the area of Poland. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Poland is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 20 August 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (20 August 2021).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 21 May 2021, the suspension for importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Republic of Korea has expired on 19 August 2021. However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of the Republic of Korea. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Republic of Korea is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days  since 20 August 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (20 August 2021).

However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of African Swine Fever in the area of the Philippines. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of African Swine Fever disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from the Philippines is temporarily suspended for  a period of 90 days since 20 August 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (20 August 2021).

By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live domestic and wild pigs and their carcasses from China is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 20 August 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (20 August 2021).

According to the announcement of the Government Gazette dated 21 May 2021, the suspension for importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Chinese Taipei has expired on 19 August 2021. However, the OIE has reported a continued outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) (Serotype H5N5) in the area of Chinese Taipei. Therefore, it is necessary for Thailand to prevent the entry of AI disease into the country. By the virtue of Animal Epidemics Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the importation of live poultry and poultry carcasses from Chinese Taipei is temporarily suspended for a period of 90 days since 20 August 2021 onward in the Thai Royal Gazette (20 August 2021), except the feathers and down of poultry that have been processed in the approved establishment by the DLD and these commoditiesthat have been processed to ensure the destruction of avian influenza virus recommended by the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code topics 10.4.22 and 10.4.23 which use one of the following methods: - washed and steam-dried at 100 ºC for 30 minutes; - fumigation with formalin (10% formaldehyde) for 8 hours; - irradiation with a dose of 20 kilogray.
